On Practicing With Times of Happiness and Sadness

When I suffer, I carry it as the pain of all beings; may the ocean of suffering be dried up. When I'm happy, I dedicate this joy to all beings; may benefit and happiness fill the reaches of space. ~Kache Penchen (Shakyashribhadra)~ A quote of "particular importance" that Geshe Jinpa Sonam cited during his teachings on Sunday, July 5th. He expressed that this quote is very noteworthy as it offers special instruction for the path of practice given in just a few words, and carries the very heart of bodhicitta. It illustrates concisely how we can work with a fluctuating range of experiences and emotions in a way that is of great benefit and merit.
