On Aug. 20, 2011, IBC had a booth at the Cumberland Arts Festival as fundraiser to pay down its mortgage. In addition to our usual store items, Noi sold her amazing Thai cooking, fresh-made there in the tent. Noi's food was the most popular thing at the Fest, making for a busy, exhausting, but profitable day.
On Aug. 13, 2011, IBC held Food and Groove, a dinner/concert to raise funds to pay down IBC's mortgage. Local entertainers generously donated their time and talents to make the event very successful, especially for a first effort. Held at The Irving, Food and Groove was honored to have such notable performers as il Troubadore, Kate Lamont, Ken McGee, and Kelsang Lewis. Local cook Travis Eaton donated food and his culinary skills and Noi donated some of her marvellous eggrolls. Local business like Berger's, Live Nation, and Tiqueibles of Irvington donated items to be auctioned. Many people, too numerous to be named, volunteered their time and efforts. Thanks to all of their efforts and to those who were kind enough to have attended this wonderful event, Food and Groove was extremely successful. We are considering making Food and Groove an annual event, so watch your calendars!
On 01/08-09/11, IBC held a Nyung Ne retreat at the Benedictine Inn. Although the weather wasn't the best, it turned out quite well. Many thanks to the nuns at the Benedictine Center for their generous support in helping us manage this retreat. We couldn't have done it without them.
IBC has a presence at the 2010 International Festival. The Tibetan community not only had a booth were they sold their wares and educated the public on their political situation, but performed traditional songs and dances on stage. Geshe-la entertained kids with his amazing Play-Doh skills.
Relic Tour 2010 In September 2010, An Lac Temple invited the Relic Tour back to Indy and kindly invited IBC to be a part of the event. The Tour Caretakers, out of their kindness volunteered to bring the Relics to IBC for a brief visit so Geshe-la could bless IBC and everyone present. A totally, way cool experience all around! When the Tour comes somewhere near you, take the weekend off and go.

Most of us camped out together in the state park, prepared meals together, and shared the experience of being in a camp site that we also shared with our very precious teacher, Geshe Jinpa Sonam. It was a most marvelous experience that was captured at least a little in these photos. Many thanks to Julie Carmody for sharing these memories.

HIS HOLINESS DORJI LOPEN RINPOCHE - album 1
July 2004
This was his Holiness' first visit to the west. He is a Vajra master and he is the 2nd highest Rinpoche in Bhutan. He is the
religious leader responsible for religious training of the monks and monasteries that includes education and mastery of
Buddhist scriptures and meditation practices. His Holiness, a master in the Drukpa Kagyu Tradition, is the reincarnation of
the 17th Century Mahasiddha Jinpa Gyaltsen and has attained Supreme Realization. During his first trip to the USA, we will be
fortunate to receive the benefits of his vast knowledge, wisdom and blessings. We were very touched and fortunate to have
received teachings from Rinpoche here in Indianapolis and Greenwood.

JULY 2004
His Holiness Dorji Lopen Rinpoche decided to give the Medicine Buddha empowerment during the closing of the sand mandala.
The Medicine Buddha is also known as the "Healing Buddha". This ceremony is especially beneficial for those with personal illness
or those who are involved in the healing fields. This is an extremely auspicious and very beneficial initiation especially
reinforced and empowered by the mandala.
